View STEP files online

Open a STEP or STP file without installing a desktop CAD application. The viewer reads real STEP geometry with Open CASCADE WebAssembly, tessellates it for display and keeps the part names, hierarchy and colors that the importer returns.

From STEP geometry to an assembly view

Use the model tree to find named parts and nested assemblies. Rotate, hide or isolate parts; apply an exploded view when the import contains multiple real mesh parts. Assembly structure depends on the source file and the importer output.

Units and approximate measurements

STEP file units are normalized to millimetres for the imported geometry. Onscreen measurements use triangulated or fitted geometry, not an exact B-Rep measurement API. Read the approximate labels and verify critical dimensions in professional CAD software.

Sections and practical limits

Section planes clip the displayed geometry without changing the original STEP. Cuts are not capped. STEP AP242 PMI is unavailable. Very large or unusual files may exceed browser or import budgets; a successful parse does not prove complete CAD compatibility.

How to view a model

  1. Open the 3D viewer and select your .step or .stp file.
  2. Wait for the actual STEP parser and read any import notices.
  3. Inspect the model tree and source units, then rotate or fit the assembly.
  4. Use measurement or section tools, and export needed results before leaving.
